WER BIN ICH?

I am an ambitious, hopeful, and very self-aware 24-year-old just trying to live a happy life. I work in Social Work and am currently working on adding to my career. I love dogs, art, food and fashion (In no particular order except dogs are always first).

WAS DENKE ICH ÜBER DIE FASHION HERO TV-SERIE?

I think The Fashion Hero is a breath of fresh air. The best way I can describe it is The feeling you get when you get home at last and take off those size-too-small pants, stop sucking your tummy in and finally get to breathe comfortably. Beauty standards have been tainted with either limited, exaggerating, and sometimes even impossible standards. Even if most of us know this, it's hard to embrace our own kind of Beauty when the majority of the world is trying to follow those standards just to fit in or for fear of being judged and laughed at. This series is something we needed a long time ago and I am glad it's finally here to show people beauty is not just in a magazine, in a runway show, or in the movies, it is within us and we should not be ashamed of taking pride of our own beauty. Let's show the world beauty has billions of representations, so every person can finally take a good breath, comfortable in their own skin.

WARUM WÄRE ICH EIN TOLLES VORBILD FÜR DIE HEUTIGE GENERATION UND WÜRDE MENSCHEN ALS DAS NEUE GESICHT VON THE FASHION HERO INSPIRIEREN?

I believe I would be a great role model because I care about humanity and I have built my career around that. I have volunteered for years at non-profits and have finally decided a year ago to make it my career. Every day I get to help people in need, people who are struggling in life, who find themselves in a dark tunnel, I get to help them by being that tiny light that comforts them and reminds them it's all going to be okay. I work for an amazing nonprofit founded by Father Joe, who started this beautiful organization in 1950 by selling PB&Js by the chapel in Downtown San Diego. Not only do I care profoundly about my community, especially the part that needs a warm, friendly hand, but I also believe I would be a good role model because every day I find the strength to fight against my mental health problems. I was diagnosed with depression at 11 years old and with BPD at 21. According to research, an estimated 26% of Americans ages 18 and older -- about 1 in 4 adults -- suffer from a diagnosable mental disorder in a given year. I am proof that it is possible to create a dream life when you have mental health problems. Though I know it's not easy, I am very transparent about my mental health struggles and many people would find that relatable and hopefully they can find some faith in themselves and their future by seeing it is possible to live with something as challenging as mental health conditions.
