As an Italian mixed race kid ( Italian father and Nigerian mother) growing up in Italy, I always knew I was different and for that I always felt like I didn’t fit in any category. I think having someone similar to me to look up to in tv programs and media, someone empowered by their own uniqueness, would have made a huge difference. I was always different. Not totally black and not white. I struggled with binge eating when I was young and lost lots of weight at first in the wrong way. I struggled to come to a place where I could be at peace with myself and I feel like my journey is very inspirational for the future generations to come. As the new face of the fashion hero, I could represent all of that, a new type of beauty and inspire people to embrace their own uniqueness.
