"Who am I?" I've spent most of my life trying to conceal that, so considering THIS project, I'm really rather surprised at myself.

To give everyone a chance -- from every walk of life -- and every age group seems like a concept past its time. If I can help, for as long as I can last, it will be time worth spent.

After looking over all the contestants, I realize that I am "out of my league" according to today's standards. At least, that's how I'm perceived on a daiy basis. Other people make judgments when I walk through the door; those judgments are often reflected in how I feel about myself. When I was younger, I suppose I thought that way, too. But now, just maybe I might have an opportunity to change that perception of the older generation. I'm a teacher; that's always been my life's ambition and even now, I am -- a teacher -- after traveling halfway across the world and back again; after being retired for 12 years and now beginning my 6th year in the classroom (post-retirement), but it's been a heck of a ride! If I can share it, I can meet people of all ages where they are; I can listen. I've had a whole lot of experience reading people's emotions and reactions. but I really don't know why I'm still here. Maybe this experience will help me undertand that part of my life and maybe provide some courage to others who might think their lives are over and they are just . . . waiting.
