Hello, I'm Melody Zondo, married Mom of two extraordinary children. I am a Beauty/Hair Blogger turned Business woman and spent over 20 years in Corporate South Africa. I studied Marketing and held different positions from Client Liason to Account Manager, servicing corporates such as MTN, Deloitte and Touche and PWC. In 2017, I gave up a thriving career in banking as a Deal Manager for ABSA Investment and Corporate Bank to pursue my passion for beauty. I've worked with brands such as Graftobian Make-Up South Africa, Yardley and Avon. I've also worked as a TV presenter for the Beauty segment on DStv's shopping channel, TV Mall. In 2019, I was featured in a national ad campaign by international hair brand Easy Waves. I'm a content creator and have my own YouTube channel where I share my love for Beauty, Hair and Parenting. I've worked on productions such as Mrs World 2016/2017 pageant, Miss South Africa 2018 roadshow fashion show, the SAFTAS 2018 and 2018 Ghoemas awards. Just before the COVID-19, I was attending Beauty school, learning how to microblade. I'll certify after the lockdown and this will help me to bring additional skills and services to my business. I'm a survivor of Domestic violence and abuse and recently shared my story on my YouTube channel. I continue to build my brand and constantly work with local celebrities as a make-up artist and model. My dream is to one day have my own cosmetics line and to have a successful and lucritive career in international modeling.
It's an awesome series thatgives contestants an opportunity to show the world who they are. We live in a world where authenticity isn't celebrated enough. And it doesn't hurt that by winning you get to represent international brands.
I'd be great model for this generation because I'd show them it's never too late to pursue your dreams. Society has a tendency of putting an age restriction on our dreams and the world is pretty ageist. I've been through a lot of challenges and adversity is something I know very well, yet I still have the courage to continue. I come from very humble beginnings yet I've never let circumstances determine my future.
