QUI SUIS-JE ?

Hey! I'm Kenique, Ken for short :) I am a social, artsy, silly and approachable person. I was born and raised in The Bahamas and I am a proud Bahamian. I have lived in Canada for the past 8 years and I am loving my experience here. I have a laid back energy and love embracing the peaceful moments of life. However, I am passionate, ambitious, hardworking and a deep thinker. I recently graduated from the University of Waterloo with my bachelors in Psychology and I am an aspiring clinical psychologist. it is my dream to not only raise awareness about mental health, but also help people with mental health challenges to accomplish their dreams and goals no matter how big or small. People are my passion and I strive to be a welcoming space for everyone I meet. In addition to modeling, I enjoy singing, dancing and writing. I'm excited to share more of myself, my experiences and my passions with you :)

QU’EST-CE QUE JE PENSE DE LA SÉRIE TÉLÉVISÉE THE FASHION HERO?

I am someone who has a genuine love for diversity. I love the fact that every person comes with a different story and a unique beauty. It is so exciting to see a show that embraces and celebrates diversity in the fashion industry! As a dark skinned, black woman with afro features, my form of beauty was not always celebrated as I grew up. I am so happy to see black beauty and other non-traditional forms of beauty being celebrated more. The world needs so much more of this!

POURQUOI VOULEZ VOUS ÊTRE LE MODÈLE DE CETTE GENERATION ET INSPIRER PLUSIEURS GENS EN ÉTANT LE NOUVEAU VISAGE DE THE FASHION HERO ?

I grew up in a world where black beauty was too often exclusively associated with black people who held more Eurocentric features like light skin and thin noses. I had the amazing opportunity to be taught that there was great strength and beauty in my identity. However, it took me a while to embrace that truth that I was taught from my childhood. Now I embrace myself with confidence. I know what it is to be insecure and I know what it is to overcome it. I have a genuine love for people and I'm not afraid to be vulnerable so that others can feel the courage that they need to embrace themselves as I am learning to embrace myself.
