Being the only brown girl in my neighborhood Tyra Banks and ANTM basically raised me. As an immigrant I’ve been exposed to an huge variety of styles and personalities and my fashion taste reflects that. My style can’t be defined or put into one simple genre. It’s as complex as I am and reflects my 20 different personalities & cultures I reside in.

Growing up I never saw girls like me in real life nor the media so as a child I tried to be something I’m not for the standards of those I didn’t even know. After some time getting to know my own culture and what defines “Kerry Kalu” I discovered I was too complex to be fitting into anyone standards. I came from nothing although I know I’m something great and I want others to know it’s possible for them too. Especially those that haven’t always had a support system cheering them on, and those who more often then not are breaking their backs just be their own and only fan. You’re worth it and you’re worthy. You’re not crazy for trying or believing in yourself. But you just might be crazy enough to make it happen.
