CHI SONO?

My name is Nora Graff Kleven, I'm 39, and I live in Oslo, Norway with my husband and our two young children. I'm a writer, poet and public speaker with a master's degree in creative writing. I will make a great role model because at nearly 40, I still have not given up on my dreams! My story is all about finding back to who I once was. As a child, I wanted to be on stage, to sing and use my voice. But a lot of trauma happened in my life and I lost my ability to express myself authentically. I've been through depression, anxiety and self-hate. As an adult I started on the long road of putting myself back together. I have done nearly ten years of hypnotherapy in order to reclaim the parts of me that were lost; the girl who wanted to perform and express herself. My biggest accomplishment happened after I became a mom for the first time. All my old trauma came back up and I went through postpartum psychosis, without knowing that's what I was dealing with and without medication. It was a very intense and frightening experience, yet I never doubted that I would make it through, and I did. Eventually, I found the strength to have my second child, and I am so proud of myself for that. I'm learning to love myself. I have started writing and speaking publicly about my experiences with mental health, motherhood and postpartum in hopes of helping other moms. Finding the courage to speak in public is one way to reconnect with the fearless girl I once was. I am also exploring other ways of becoming who I was meant to be. Next month I am going to a voice workshop, and I can't wait. Being a part of The Fashion Hero TV Series will be the perfect way for me to continue this journey and bring my message of hope to people around the world. I believe my 40s will be my prime - the best is yet to come! I love writing, which also happens to be my greatest talent. I started writing poetry at 15 as a way of dealing with my feelings. Recently I went to a songwriter's workshop as I hope to turn my writing into songwriting. I also love walking in the forest, going to the beach, travelling and creating fun experiences for my kids. My favorite places I have visited are South Africa, where me and my husband went for our honeymoon and Gran Canaria which was perfect for our family holiday this year. Next on my wishlist is Iceland because I want to show my son a real volcano! When I want to relax I hang out with one of my besties and watch RuPaul's Drag Race, which I find very inspiring and fun.

COSA NE PENSO DELLA SERIE TV THE FASHION HERO?

Absolutely love the concept! I think beauty comes in many forms. The more I have learned about The Fashion Hero TV Series, the more I know that the show is aligned with my values. Fashion to me is about confidence and I’m finding mine. I’d love to be a part of this show and share my story and message of hope with people around the world!

PERCHÉ SAREI UN BUON MODELLO PER QUESTA GENERAZIONE E IN CHE MODO ISPIREREI LE PERSONE COME NUOVO VOLTO DI THE FASHION HERO?

I’m a good role model because I am a soul on fire that won’t give up. My fashion is about feeling good in my hectic everyday life. I’ll find that one garment or piece of accessory that makes me feel like me. Fashion is a way of connecting to my own power. I strive for authentic expression and self-love even though time and resources might be limited. My skin has a lot of scars from acne when I was younger or my kids scratching me at times. Sometimes I cover it up, sometimes I don’t because I finally feel that I’m beautiful regardless!
