I’m constantly evolving. As a mother and wife I’m constantly thinking of ways I can stay connected to who I truly am and not get lost in day to day responsibilities of life. I consider myself to be a free spirit as someone who doesn’t shy away from boundaries on what it means to be a woman(especially as a mother). As a young girl,aside from my mother and few close friends, I didn’t have very many positive women role models to look up to. For that reason I try to be an ally to every woman I come in contact with. Whether it’s just a listening ear or an encouraging word I want to have a lasting positive impression on them. I consider myself a big advocate for self love and living as your true self.

This series is something I hope can transform how society as a whole views beauty. As people we come in so many different forms and to be boxed in to a category of beauty very few of us fit in is really disheartening. As someone who struggled with their self image growing up I love that there is a show that pushes diversity and in turn promotes acceptance of the different faces of what beauty is.

I’ve just recently started to experience what it means to not only step outside of my comfort zone but to also step out of my own way so I could do so. I’m on a path of no longer talking myself out of feeling or looking my best and I want as many people as possible to witness my journey. I want to be the image that encourages other brown girls to listen to their desires rather than their doubts.
