Who am I?

I am down to earth, opinionated, resilient, beautiful in many ways and I also happen to be an art lover. I studied Economics at the Nelson Mandela University. I am a decendent of the (Lemba) black Jews of the Southern parts of Africa, this makes me unique because it is something rare to find. It shows that people travel and globalization has been going on for centuries. I am diverse in terms or cultures, I am Tswana but my maternal grandma was Sotho, she got married to a Lemba man whose family adopted the Venda culture although they know they are black Jews. My diversity reflects the beauty and diversity of South Africans, we are a multicultural nation. I am the 5th of 6 daughters, I know the struggle of being only girl in a community that values boys. Because of that, I know the value gender equality.

What do I think about A New Kind of Beautiful TV series Presented by The Fashion Hero TV series?

I want to live my life to the fullest and do everything I ever dreamt of doing, I do not want to wonder what would have happened if I followed a certain dream or have any regrets. My wildest dream is to become a world known body activist, model and beauty icon, business woman and philanthropist. I used to think it is far far-fetched because most models are tall and slim now. Most plus size models are usually bigger and taller than I am. However, platforms like this one gives people like me the opportunity to become what they could only wish for. My biggest dream was to be independent, it is still a dream I strive to achieve. I managed to get one of the big step towards Independence fulfilled , that is to get educated (a lot of people helped me achieve it, my family and friends mostly and my amazing lecturers too). I've grown a lot as an individual, that is always a priority. I am proud of the women I am becoming and the woman I already am. I am passionate about education, gender equality, environment sustainability, humanitarian work, eradicating poverty, economic development and I am pro black. I love how resilient black people are, not just black people but how resilient people generally are, for example the native American, Jews and all the other groups who faced injustice and still managed to survive and pass on wisdom to the next generations.

Why would I be a great role model for this generation and inspire people as the new face of A New Kind Of Beautiful TV series Presented by The Fashion Hero?

I would try to bridge the gap between the typical models and plus size models and make sure everyone in between and beyond feels included in the fashion industry. People with different skin tones, hair texture, eye color and financial background should be represented and seen. I will try to make the industry more inclusive even in my country too. I would use the platform to show that Africa producess some of the best clothes. I will try to include more Africans in fashion shows too. I believe the fashion industry can lead to job creation in countries like South Africa that has high unemployment rate. People will be able to open their own businesses and see fashion as a business not just a form of art that is not lucrative. Woman can make a living out of fashion and that can lead to their empowerment. It can assist them to get an education for themselves and their kids too. Communities that struggled to get education and other basic human rights that they were previously deprived of can get them when they are economically empowered. Fashion will not only benefit woman, cause people of all genders and sexual orientation take part in making clothes so it will benefit everyone in the community. Being self employed is extremely important in Sun Sahara Africa due to the high unemployment rate here. I would connect entrepreneurs to more markets to enable them to make their business lucrative. I worked for my sister who is a fashion designer and she ran her own business at home, doing so in a township that is far from the urban areas came with many challenges. I have first hand experience of all those challenges and will be able to come up with better solutions for small businesses that are ran in rural areas and townships. When you empower a woman you empower a community I believe in that proverb
