Who am I?

Hey, I’m Danielle! If you want me to accurately describe myself, I’d probably say that I’m a Jack of all trades. I’m originally from Canada (Winnipeg, Manitoba), but live in the US as a Marketing Assistant. I’m a self-taught clothing and costume designer who has worked on numerous short films for my friend’s short film company. I model for fun, and I strive to one day be part of the fashion industry, whether that involves clothing or modeling!

What do I think about The Fashion Hero TV Series?

I’ve only just learned about the fashion hero tv series, and I think this series does an AMAZING job in its drive to change the fashion industry and its inclusivity. The fashion industry is in dire need of new faces and backgrounds, and this tv series does a great job of introducing new, passionate people in an entertaining and inspiring way.

Why would I be a great role model for this generation and inspire people as the new face of the Fashion Hero?

I think I’d be a great role model for this generation because I represent the everyday POC that aspires to break into the fashion industry by trying their best to educate themselves and find all the resources they can to help get them started. I’ve loved fashion for as long as I can remember, but didn’t have the resources for it. My aunt taught me the basics, I attended a sewing class in college that I struggled in, and eventually saved up to buy myself my own supplies and teach myself the other things I needed to know in order to sew and design clothes. Once I was able to understand how strenuous the design and sewing process can be to make an amazing garment, I gained a new appreciation for clothing and the fashion industry, resulting in my interest in modeling. Modeling helped me attempt to convey the importance and individuality within every piece of clothing while having fun and coming out of my shell :)
