My name is Lauren May, I’m a student currently studying Musical Theatre at University. I was picked up to be a model when I was around 14 after getting headshots done for acting. since then I have done a few shoots but because of my body, height and overall look, people have not wanted me to be apart of their shoots as I never met the standards.

I think this is such a beautiful and inspiring TV series. This breaks the wall that is the beauty industry and lets people express themselves. It warms my heart to know that people are getting a chance to show who they are and who they can be, even if they don’t meet beauty’s standards. The fashion and beauty industry is changing for the better, and I think this show is one of the many great things that is coming from that.

When I was younger I was always told I was ugly, useless, dumb and just overall bullied. So when someone said to me that I was beautiful and said I had potential to model it seemed fake. 4 years later I still get self conscious in front of a camera due to how damaged I was as a kid. I want to stop that and stop bullying. I would want to make everyone feel like they belong when I didn’t, I want to make people feel beautiful, strong, smart and everything they want to be. And this is my chance to help.
