From age 12-18 I was case number 789563. I grew up a ward of the state and to them I was a nobody , I was nothing but another case .. another lost cause. My name is shamiah. I’m a 19 year old from Orlando Florida. Who am I ? I am someone who believes that anyone no matter the circumstances, where you come from, where or how you were raised, regardless of your past, regardless of what people may think or say about you I believe you can do and be anything in life you want as long as you want it bad enough. I am ambitious, I am strong and I am so driven. I want to show the world I will not be another statistic & that I have the potential to be so much more.

I think this show Is amazing. These days it seems us females are held to a standard and it’s unfair. I love the way the show gives everyone a chance at doing what they love regardless of today’s “standards” , fashion hero is a positive influence for this generation and I would love to see more shows where self love & originality is showcased the way fashion hero does.

I’ve been modeling for almost a year now , I’ve always wanted to model but it took me awhile before I built up the courage to actually pursue my passion because I always felt like I wasn’t “good enough” , “skinny enough” or “pretty enough”. I didn’t wanna be labeled or judged Until one day I got the extra push I needed and I haven’t looked back ever since. There’s nothing I love more than to model , it’s so empowering , you feel beautiful and powerful. It gave me a feeling I never felt before , recognition. I invest so much of myself into this because it’s something I love to do and I’m willing to work hard to prove I deserve this. I can do anything in life as long as I want it bad enough and I want so many other beautiful women all over the world to feel the same way! I want to be the voice that brings them out of their comfort zone and encourages them to be whatever they want , regardless of whether or not they meet today’s “standards”. For 5 years of my life I was a case number and now I have a name and i want to show the world who shamiah is and exactly what I’m capable of.
