My name is Susmita, and I am a very bubbly, outgoing, direct, and social butterfly. Im a first generation American born Indian growing up in PA and currently residing in FL.

My dreams and passions include to continue being who I am, continue to be courageous and brave in the backlashes and disapproval within the cultural society, continue to inspire women in the South Asian community to be strong and voice there concerns and stand up for what they believe, and most importantly, to continue self growth with my husband and his support.

South Asians are a minority and under represented within the Fashion Industry. Partially its the culture to blame that makes us want to hold back and not pursue the dreams of pursuing a career in the fashion industry and partially is us as women to blame for not being able to stand up for what we believe in. With the double standards, high expectations of a womans role, family involvment, the fear of family rejection, fear of bringing shame to the family and family name, and fear of how you will be seen in society, we tend to develope a identity crisis because we dont know who we are until we step away to make our own decision in our life. As the next Fashion Hero, ai want to make a difference by representing the South Asian Community, encouraging more strong minded women to pursue their dreams, and to get away from the continuous cycle of mental abuse from family, family friends, and the society that tries to hold us back. I want to make a difference by showing that it is possible to step out of the comfort zone and become your own person. I want to make a difference by having more south asians stepping forward in the fashion industry whether its as a model, as a designer, as a jounalist, as a tv host, or even as a event organizer. I want to show that you are not a disappointment to your family just because your not a doctor, a lawyer, a nurse, a pharmacist or even a business owner.
