Greeting from the Sunny State of Florida. My name is Edward Tapia born and raised in New York City however, Puerto Rican family. I Was a contestant and one of the finalist on Season one of “The Fashion Hero”. I arrived to Montreal to follow my dream of being a model with other amazing aspiring models. I arrived to the film with a smile on my face though my entire world was crumbling into pieces before my eyes. I was going through a separation/divorce situation which no one was aware of. Prior to the filming of the show I had no place to live so I was living out of my vehicle and I’d shower at work since we had a company gym. This information about being homeless I never disclosed on the show however, during season one there is an episode where I just couldn’t take it and I broke down in tears. That was my breaking point. That was the moment that I realized that all I needed in my life was my dream and myself to make it a reality. I realized that only after a few days of filming my life was already changed. I was surrounded by so much love from the other contestants that it only made me stronger. To experience The Fashion Hero changed my life Emotionally, spiritually, mentally, and physically. I’ve grown so much into a bigger and greater version of myself. I learned that I have the power to become bigger and greater than what I’ve ever dreamed of.

So what’s new with Edward Tapia? Well, upon returning back from the Show I had a place to live and I’ve been there ever since. I’m no longer homeless thank God. With just 5 or 6 days of coming back from filming I was selected as a Model during “Orlando International Fashion Week” casting call, to walk for “Men’s Wearhouse” clothing store also known in Canada as “Moores”. I began to model for both stores in the U.S. as well as in Canada on the runway shows. I was brought back to Montreal to Model at the “2017 Divine International Bridal Show” where I modeled for “Moores” Clothing store. Today, Men’s Wearhouse/Moores, dress me for high end events that I attend. I’ve been dressed in clothing from “Vera Wang” to “Calvin Klein” just to name a few. Also A few months after, Toward the end of 2016 I was asked to compete in a male beauty pageant and I become “Mr. Florida Prestige 2016”. Since then I’ve also done the “All World Beauties/Man of Distinction International Pageant” and I currently hold the title of “Mr. Florida Man of Distinction 2018” and during the International competition in Dallas, Texas I won “2018 Man of Distinction People’s Choice Award”. In 2017 I was nominated for best male model of Central Florida and amongst 27 candidates I won with the most votes. I was presented with the “2018 Best Male Model” award at the 2018 Fashion Gala Awards. I was currently nominated again for the 2019 Awards. I continue to travel internationally for runway shows. I’m one of the models at NYFW and my next shows in New York Fashion Week are coming up in August and September of 2018. I will also be traveling to Paris and Dubai for runway shows as well. I’m currently a brand ambassador for Ximena Valero, S&M Custom Design, and Hashawn Carey Apparel just to name a few. I’ve been featured in several magazines with the most recent magazine being “World Class Kings Magazine” where I had the honors of not only being on the front cover of the magazine but having a full 6 page spread in it. Here is a link of some of the content in that’s included in the hard copy magazine: https://worldclasskingsmagazine.wordpress.com/2018/05/18/edward-tapia-mr-florida-man-of-distinction-2018/ Later after the magazine being launched I was asked by the CEO of the company If I’d like to be World Class Kings USA Ambassador 2018. I replied “Yes” and this is the new page recently created for that:

Last but not I was just messaged on Instagram to film a Latin Music Video as the main featured model. The filming was just completed the weekend of July 14th and the production team is currently working on the editing of the video. Stay tuned and follow me on my social media for updates of behind the scenes footage, photos, and the final product.

What do I continue to do?: I continue to inspire people all over the world through my social media and through my modeling career that it’s okay to be different. Many don’t realize that being different is the power and the strength they need to fulfill their dreams and aspirations. When I do live presentations and speeches I encourage people to learn to love themselves and embrace who they are. I share my story that despite being born with a cleft lip/palate, today I can say that I am a #InternationalModel #PublishedModel and that I am a #brandambassador for International designers. Prior to the fashion Hero it was just my dream and today it’s my #reality.

Remember this: “Embrace who you are today and your tomorrow will be brighter”. (My Personal and own quote)

Love,
Edward
