Rajee Narinesingh is an American transgender activist, actress, author, singer, mystic, and reality TV star. Rajee was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and raised in Philadelphia, PA. Her father was of East Indian descent from the country of Trinidad & Tobago and her mother is American (she is a mix of French, African American, Polynesian, and Native American). Rajee is most known for her appearances on talk shows such as Dr. Phil, Trisha Goddard (TV series), and Anderson Cooper; discussing her experience with Black-market injections into her: face, breasts, hips, and buttocks; that was passed off as medical-grade silicone. The procedures caused terrible side-effects for her; landing her in the hospital and having to receive multiple surgeries to remove the harmful chemicals that were put into her face. To share her journey she's released a memoir, Beyond Face Value: The Journey to True Beauty. She has also appeared as Aunt Norma in the independent soap opera, Bella Maddo, the first all-transgender cast to play "non-transgender" roles. Rajee also appears on season 2, 3 & 4 of the reality show Botched on the E! Network.

No matter how many mirrors you look into, you won't see what everyone else does, going beyond face value is not just a lesson I had to learn, but it is an ethos I now live my life by. I've emerged as a butterfly does from a cocoon into a beautiful spirit, yet the cruelty of life has deprived me of the traditional facial value. My story came to the global stage of my horrendous and painful botched black-market injections came to light in Florida. Quickly, the damage inflicted on me had attracted the media both nationally and internationally, within a matter of weeks. At age 44 I finally had a platform to speak out against injustice and cruelty. My story is about one transgendered woman's incredible journey to truly understanding true beauty, but it has also touched millions, not just through understanding the plight of a transgender woman, but because everyone has experienced, at some point in their lives, the disapproval of their parents, bullying at the hands of ignorance, discrimination, and events that change lives for the good, even though the idea they could, or that a future is even possible, is incredulous.. Inner beauty is a lovely cliche, but after a life of tragedy, through spiritual enlightenment and prayer, I have beaten the odds and reached a point in my life where I know happiness and acceptance is truly beyond face value.
