The annascholz label
In 1993, while still in school, Anna opened a shop on Portobello Road selling her own designs, and two years later she launched the annascholz label as we now know it. Anna exhibited her label at fashion trade shows across the world, including London Fashion Week, Pure London, Moda UK, CPD Germany, Prêt-à-Porter Paris, Moda Milano, Workshop New York, WWIN Las Vegas and the Atelier Designers show in New York.
The annascholz collection sold in numerous stores throughout the world. Stockists have included Harrods and Selfridges in London, Saks 5th Avenue and Bloomingdale’s in New York, Neiman Marcus, Ludwig Beck in Germany, and Takashimaya and Isetan in Japan.
In 2000, Anna embarked on the first of several design collaborations, a collection of womenswear and lingerie for the Designers for Debenhams project. In 2006, Anna began designing a diffusion brand for the JD Williams catalogue, Simply Be, which to date has included women’s wear, swimwear, nightwear, lingerie, shoes and home furnishings. Anna also collaborated with the German plus-size brand, Sheego, in 2014, launching the Anna Scholz for Sheego Collection.
The annascholz label website, www.annascholz.com, was launched in 2007, and since January 2016 has been selling the annascholz collection exclusively. It is the biggest and most comprehensive stockist of the main annascholz collections and it attracts a global customer base.
Anna has worked with many celebrities since launching her brand, like Ashley Graham, Jill Scott, Queen Latifah, Adele, Beth Ditto, Lisa Riley, Aretha Franklin, Macy Gray, Alison Moyet and Dawn French.
She has often appeared on TV and on the radio throughout her career; she’s been on BBC news, BBC’S Woman’s Hour, GMTV, Gok’s Fashion Fix, Trinny and Susannah, Mary Queen of Shops and NDR Talkshow in Germany.
