I joined TFH thanks to Hanna Scholz, a plus size designer I am a fan of.
I was so happy to find a Reality TV Show that was focused on the same mission as mine, I am a body positive indie researcher and activist as well as a indie dressmaker/fashion stylist.
It was so empowering to find people from around the world, beautiful young girls with lots of body image issues too, talking to each other and empowering each other.
I have no body image issues anymore, but I had a lot of them. I grew up with bulimia and dysmorphia, I work a lot with my inner self to fix my struggles that were no more than internalized stigma.
I was disappointed when I discover i was not one of the finalists of season one, and I guess if maybe we could have another chance with TFH. I had, they called me back after 5 days but I was already on my way home in the JFK airport. It was a big regret for me...And this idea of yours to pick up some mentors between us, it's a great one.
I am still doing a lot of things: conferences/talks where I talk about body image and body positivity, runways where I have plus size and non-conventional models, performances in art exhibitions, or in the public streets. TFH helped me a lot, even with its deny. I had to manage the TFH denial and it was hard, I went through a lot of struggles, not for my body or age but for me as person. But I become stronger and wiser.
