I am a 35 year old teacher, journalist, and aspiring actor/model. I was born and raised in Lima, Peru, but immigrated to the United States when I was seven years old. I currently live in New Jersey with my boyfriend and three dogs. In the fall of 2021 I will be pursuing a Masters in Business Administration, my second graduate degree. I am highly ambitious and passionate about seeking ways to become a better person in the world. I am definitely about self-empowerment and I am consistently working on becoming the best version of myself.
I love the fashion hero tv series and its attempts to break down barriers and recalibrate the way in which we think about beauty and the standards of beauty. The mission of the show is so relevant and timely, and most definitely necessary!
I have always served in positions that make me a role model, especially in being a teacher, and starting out at the age of 21. Teaching for the past 13 years has become more than just a job, it is truly a passion, and I do it for the opportunities to mentor young people. My desire to help others was further extended when I was Mr. United Stares in 2017, and I was able to mentor young people from around the country. I would love for my platform to continue to grow, and reach young people internationally, especially LGBT youth, who are at higher risk of committing suicide than their straight counterparts. Representation matters and our LGBT youth need to see people who like them in the media and in positions of leadership. I know I can be an amazing role model and mentor, and serve as the voice of these populations.
