I live in Wisconsin and I’m currently a full-time student going to school for elementary education. I’m also a soldier in the Army National Guard and want to make a positive impact on students not only in their classrooms but in their community.
My passions include working with students, and serving my community, but in my free time I also enjoy photography, writing, long distance running, tennis and just recently got into modeling (I had the amazing opportunity to walk in the 2019 Chicago Fashion Week.)
I want the young people in this world to not undervalue themselves. Every student and child has their own strengths (some obvious and some hidden to onlookers) and I think, with no ill-intention, we unfortunately have students and children mentally box themselves into categories based on where we think they will excel on the strengths we see, not necessarily letting them understand that it’s okay to have passions outside their strengths and knowing it’s okay to step out of the margins. Life is long and they’ll make mistakes, but growth is seeing where you’re going not where you’ve been. I want to encourage this thinking not only through teaching but through the way I live my life. You can be a teacher, soldier, artist, student, athlete, and model all at the same time. I think The Fashion Hero would give me a platform to encourage young people to do what they’re passionate about, wear what they feel comfortable in, and live a life that brings them joy. :)
