What do I think about The Fashion Hero TV series?

It is so important to have media representation for multiple demographics in society so that our beauty standards may become more inclusive and tolerant of a broader variety of beauty that comes in all shapes and sizes.

Why would I be a great role model for this generation and inspire people as the new face of The Fashion Hero?

I believe I am beautiful in an unconventional way. I have a tall hooked nose, I'm 4 ft 11, I'm terribly hairy for a woman, I have had eyebags since I was a child. I'm not someone people would ever dream of calling beautiful, and I have been made fun of since I was in school for the way I looked. But I believe my true beauty comes from the kindness I show the world around me, from my self care and self love. From the effort that I put into being an independent woman despite my hardships. The strength I've gained and the love I give. I work hard for myself and those around me. And every dark circle and scar, my lack of height due to lack of nutrition growing up, my nose that I never got to fix after it broke, the immense hair that emerges from my skin due to my PCOS--all of them are beautiful quirks that make up chapters of my story. This doesn't just apply to me but to everyone. With social media, we seem to be moving into an era of a very singular type of beauty. People no longer value their individuality, because there seems to be only one type of beauty standard and if one doesn't fall under that category, they're suddenly not classified as beautiful. The harmful effects of this is that it has resulted in a beauty standard that is very rare to occur naturally and normally comes about through the use of cosmetic procedures. I believe with a role model like me, who believes in unique beauty rather than chasing a uniformed standard-- that the world can start seeing things in a different light and embrace their own unique beauty. I believe that individuality is irreplaceable and no one can dull your shine when you're happily and unapologetically yourself.
