Hello! My name is Portia Franklin from Philadelphia Pa. I reside in Sicklerville NJ ( or wherever the money resides lol). Close friends/ family call me Shummy/Shum. I’m 37 yrs old let my birth certificate tell it, but I’m really 25! Lol I’m a mom of 2 beautiful children. They are MY WORLD. I love having fun, traveling, cooking, or anything that involves creativity. I’m funny, I’m a people person, I’m smart, I’m witty and MULTITALENTED. I cook, do hair and makeup, draw, paint, sing, design clothing, sew…. You name it! And I do it all with ONE ARM. I survived a car accident in 2011 which resulted in the amputation of my left arm…. Good thing I’ve always been right handed 😜 I just love life and I’m glad to be alive. With that being said I would love to show the world that I’m THE DEFINITION of A NEW KIND OF BEAUTIFUL. Smooches 😘
I think this show was made especially for me! Before my car accident I was the IT GIRL….always pretty and always fly! For so long after losing my arm I didn’t feel that way anymore. I was self conscious, and still am at times. But throughout the years I’ve learned to love myself more and more. Now, I believe I love myself more than I ever did ! I just want the world to see what I see. I’m beautiful INSIDE and OUT no matter what anyone may think or say! ….and show people like me that WE ARE ALL BEAUTIFUL in our own way! This show is the PERFECT PLATFORM to do so.
I’m a real person with real insecurities just like anyone else…. But I also love me and know my worth! That’s something everyone should admire!
