My name is Tracie Sperling. I have always had a passion for fashion. I follow the latest trends while creating my own unique style. I have a B.A in Liberal Studies with concentrations in fashion design and business administration. I am currently a style consultant at Target who provides visual merchandising and assist with store display. I am also a fashion assistant intern for a top magazine in New York called Fashion Avenue News Magazine. I assist the editors. I help provide creative content such as photos and write-ups. I edit material. Other requirements include booking travel and recording expenses. In addition, I have my own brand called COB Abstractart (Creativity Outside The Box) where I incorporate my art as actual fabric designs for clothing and matching accessories.
To be honest, I have never seen the t.v series before. I like the concept behind it though. The fashion industry has changed. Models cones in all shapes and sizes and are more diverse. You do not have to meet the standard height requirements of being 5’9 with an ideal size of 0-2. It is unrealistic and unhealthy. There are some models so thin like a toothpick they look like they have anorexia and do not have the proper nutrition. In today’s market, it is important to reach the everyday consumer. Be real, and more down to earth. Today with the unrealistic beauty standards it puts more pressure on individuals. It actually hurts people’s confidence by making them not accept their appearance in the mirror. There is no such thing as perfection. Everyone has flaws. However, the way consumerism works is they market products/services based on what we feel we need to look better. It makes us feel insecure as if there is something wrong with our appearance. Like this mascara will make my lashes longer and thicker. Now, for a more permanent effect a lot of young girls are getting eyelash extensions. I have seen females get butt pads to try to be curvier when there is nothing wrong with their shape to begin with. Too many resort to drastic changes such as cosmetic surgery along with other stuff until they are unrecognizable. Your body should be your temple and you should treat it with respect. Why change who you are when you can be yourself. Natural is better flaunt what you have because it is what God gave you.
I see myself as a good role model. I want to help positively influence others.I have a good sense of style and like to give fashion advice. I would like to change the beauty industry in general.
